This autumn farewell was capped off with a snowy camping trip up to Fundy. After spending a night huddled around a campfire, we awoke to find the ground covered with the freshly fallen snow. It made for a beautiful hike and I will carry those images with me throughout the next two years.

If you do send something, please let me know since the intercontinental postal system is less than reliable!! Finally, I would just like to thank you all for your support and spirit throughout this process. It has been wonderful talking to you all about this upcoming adventure.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep in touch!

Best of Luck, Nick. God Bless.
Yes, the day has indeed come and after a tearful send-off we left Nicholas with lots of love and prayers for a safe and productive journey. We are all so proud of you Nicholas, we love you and send you God's peace. Remember it's not good-bye, it's see you later! (only about 700 more sleeps to go!!)
Hello Nicholas. I trust that your voyage over was uneventful. After having spent two exhausting nights getting there, I am sure your a lot warmer than you were when you left.
Hey Nicholas,
We are all missing you at our house. I had to write and tell you that we have had 50cm of snow today. I am sure you are having an amazing time, can't wait to share some of them with you through your BLOG.
Love and Prayers

hola Nicolas! I don't think I ever got your mass email. My address is: lhopps@gmail.com, so definitely put me on the list!.
Thanks for the link to my blog on there! Things are going well in Nicaragua. I had lunch on Saturday with Margaret, the JVIs, and Father Cardenal (who was inspirational, as always). I was thinking about you!
I am talking right now online with Susie in Mauritania while I am in Managua. The internet is amazing, no? The up side of globalization maybe?
Anyway my friend, I wish you safe travels, and I hope to be getting lots of updates for you about life in Tanzania.
Un abrazo fuerte,
Laura
Nicholas, your analogy to the bulldozer and western thoughts and actions may do more harm then good. Good point, however, I truly believe that you are doing very good work, and very humbling work. I also think that JVI's values are much different as a NGO than are those of the US government. Keep up all of your good work.
